AT&T Fiber
AT&T launches new Fiber brand, will bring fiber internet to 11 more metro areas including Wilmington NC.
Read hereThe additional 11 gigabit markets will bring the total number to 40, and AT&T said in the press release that they are targeting 45 total metro areas by the end of 2016.

Google Fiber paused work in markets not underway, as they refine their deployment plans and evaluate technology options. Meanwhile in Charlotte, fiber deployment continues as planned. Signups are now taking place in Prosperity Village through Dec. 6.

Sources tell us Charlotte continues with the fiber build out, and we are not in the plans (yet) for the wireless technology. Stay tuned.

One Touch Make Ready
FCC says One Touch Make Ready rules are consistent with federal communications policies and regulations that seek expanded broadband deployment. Read the FCC report here. This process reduces the cost and increases the speed of deploying competitive services, and it prevents pole owners or existing attachers from needlessly delaying or impeding the deployment of new competitors. Louisville and Nashville are currently being sued by AT&T and Comcast for supporting this process.
