We've got a Screamer over Here!
Lucas was and sort of is still a screamer. As a baby he would ratchet up his screaming to previously unheard of levels of torture and anguish. The kind of screams where it looks like he’s screaming because his mouth is wide open but it’s actually silent because the sound of his wailing is on a 7-second delay and you know it’s coming but you hope against hope that it doesn’t but then it does and BOOM — it’s 1,000 times worse than you imagined. That sort of scream.

After 10 epic days in NICU, he come home frazzled, we were both frazzled. He cried excessively, inconsolably and what seemed to me, in agony. Having read up on it later, of course the boy was in shock, his neurological system had just been flipped upside-silly. He was stressed from the painful procedures he had endured in hospital, his tummy wasn’t working quiet right, his head was damn sore and he hadn’t yet been held by his mum.

For the mum who is fumbling in the dark with a screaming baby,
I so wish this article would fall into your lap.

When your infant won't Stop Screaming.
