Nepalese medical student awarded the 1st GA Scholarship!

MEET SURENDRA SAPKOTA


Dear IFMSA Alumni,
Dear Board of Trustees' Members,
dear Prof. Erik Holst Fund supporters,
 

After 4 years of waiting, we all at the Prof. Erik Holst Fund are very pleased to announce that the 1st GA Scholarship in the history of the Fund is given to Mr. Surendra Sapkota, 5th year medical student from Nepal!

Congratulations!

As already announced at erikholstfund.com, Mr. Sapkota was chosen among more than 75 candidates from all 5 IFMSA Regions who applied for the scholarship. His excellent background, as well as the qualities described in his CV and strong motivation to contribute to the future of the Federation, all played a role during the tough selection process by the members of the Fund's Board.

Mr. Sapkota will be receiving the amount of €500, as arranged with the IFMSA Treasurer, which will partially cover his registration fee and travel expenses for his participation in the IFMSA General Assembly - August Meeting 2015 which will take place in Ohrid, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in a few weeks!

We would like to take this opportunity and wholeheartedly thank all medical students who applied for this 1st GA Scholarship, and we wish them all good luck next time, as hopefully, this 1st Scholarship will be a kick-off for the Fund to be also present in future IFMSA GAs, assisting promising medical students fulfill their IFMSA dream and supporting beloved IFMSA local projects take off!

At the IFMSA 60th anniversary General Assembly in Copenhagen, IFMSA Alumni established the Prof. Erik Holst Fund.
The purpose of this Fund is to allow former IFMSA Alumni to help support the activities of the IFMSA members in attending General Assemblies and projects.
To oversee this process, an IFMSA Alumni Board of Directors and an advisory Board of Trustees consisting of past IFMSA presidents, has been created. More at

The IFMSA has had many achievements and being a large part of many our development, to make this world a better place. Please help us support the next generation.

UPCOMING: IFMSA GA-AM2015



IFMSA General Assembly is the biggest international student congress in the world. Each year on the same GA participate more than 850 delegates from 119 country members and other representatives from almost all nongovernmental organizations from the United Nations system who are official partners of IFMSA. 

IFMSA General Assembly offers a unique chance of medical students to be involved in ideas exchange and opinions among their colleagues and about questions that concerns public health, medical education, reproductive health, human rights and all global issues actual in the moment. This GA reliefs the development of the global network to all medical workers round the globe. Students can participate in dozen of trainings which affects on forming the cultural and sensitive medical students and future doctors.
