It's Stewardship Season at First Church! Our theme this year is "A Future with Hope." Pledges are an important part of how we plan for the financial future of our church and decide what our 2023 program year will look like. We are saddened to announce that Eliot "Bang" Williams passed away suddenly on Monday, October 31. His funeral service will be held at First Church on November 19 at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow in Nelson Hall. Cards may be sent to Sue Williams at 400 Seabury Dr., Apt 3159, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
Lorraine Ernst's funeral service will e held at Carmon Funeral Home this Saturday, November 5 at 12 p.m.
Howard Hunter sadly passed away on October 25. His funeral will be held at First Church on Wednesday, November 9, at 12 p.m.

Used Book Sale THIS SATURDAY

The 13th Annual First Church Used Book Sale Fundraiser will be held THIS SATURDAY, November 5! Please start setting aside your donations of books, DVDs, CDs, jigsaw puzzles, and grocery, shopping, and tote bags. We cannot accept donations of VHS tapes, old textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, or anything in very bad condition. Donations may be dropped off at Nelson Hall from 10 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 29. Please remember that we are unable to return unsold donations.
How to Help:
Pick up donations from others and deliver them to Nelson Hall
Set up the sale on Friday, November 4, from 9 a.m. until we’re done
Be a cashier on the day of the sale, Saturday, November 5.
We need 12 cashiers, 4 per t+2-hour shift) 9 to 11 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 1 to 3 p.m.)
Be a cashier at the after-service-sale at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 6
Buy books the day of the sale or after church on Sunday, November 6
Help box unsold books after the sale on Sunday, November 6

We'll celebrate Veterans Day worship on November 13. During worship, we'll enjoy a special photo slideshow. If you or someone you love has served in the military, we invite you to send their photo to Rose, being sure to include their name and the branch of the military in which they served.

Our Church Book Group will meet on Tuesday, November 15, at 3:30 p.m. in the Morrel room. We will be reading The Invisible Wall by Harry Bernstein. Everyone is very welcome, and we hope to see you there!

The Pastor’s Pie Table is back, and it’s back in a big way! This year, we are raising money for the Windsor Fuel Bank. Oil prices are HIGH this year, and families are struggling. The Outreach Team has offered to match what we raise, up to $2500 Can we do it? Yes, we can!
The sale will happen after church on November 20 in Nelson Hall. If you would like to offer a sweet or savory baked good, please contact me. Let’s help keep families warm this winter
