Act Now! Registration for the Teen Science Café Network Workshop is Closing.

The TSCN has limited travel funds for up to 30 Members to attend a Biannual Member Workshop at the St. Louis Science Center Member site starting the evening of January 27 and ending on January 29, 2015. The meeting will focus on achieving the goals of our NSF-funded project, the most important of which is building a strong community of practice around teen science cafes.

To ensure this workshop meets your needs, read the initial meeting ideas and complete the Network Meeting Planning Poll by October 15. You must complete the poll to be considered for travel support. New Members are especially encouraged to apply.

Mentors for Café Leaders

Over the past summer, we have done some match making. Experienced Members have enthusiastically embraced mentoring some of our newer Members to help them start their teen cafés and become familiar with the Network. If you are a new Member that would like a mentor, please let us know and we will be happy to connect you to someone in a similar cafe situation as yours. The mentoring relationship is informal, with a commitment that the two parties check in with one another at least monthly.

Annual Evaluation Data Reports Due September 1 (No, that is not a typo)

Each year, Members are asked to report on their activities to help us gauge the impact of the Network on teens, scientists, and the Network Members. We have received many reports and they are rich with key information to help us help you and to demonstrate to NSF that we are advancing the number and quality of teen science cafés. Your report is very important to us! Please send by ASAP, if you have not already.

The Resource Library contains Member's contributions of tools, templates, trainings and other materials they use to implement and improve their Café programs.
