Letter from the President
Dear SDPCA,
We have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months! Next week, come enjoy a delicious meal together at Taste of the Himalayas in Hillcrest. Later on in the month, we’ll pay a visit to Parque Zoologico del Niño in Baja California, and then we’ll relax while learning to paint with one of our very talented board members, Alia Kroos. But even as the month nears to a close, several more significant events will be at hand.
The day after our paint n’ sip event, Peace Corps week begins. It runs February 24-March 2 and commemorates President Kennedy’s establishment of the Peace Corps on March 1, 1961. During this annual event, the Peace Corps community celebrates all the ways that Peace Corps makes a difference at home and abroad and renews its commitment to service. This is an excellent time for each of us to reflect on the differences we are each making in our local communities, and renew our own commitments to service.
To mark the end of Peace Corps week here in San Diego, we have a very special event scheduled. Please join us on March 2nd for our third annual Taste the World event, a delicious way to celebrate friendship across cultures. We hope to see many of you there with your friends and family members!
In Peace,
Celeste Peacock-Coleman
SDPCA President
