Celebrating quality teaching and inspirational teachers...
This year NSW will celebrate World Teachers’ Day this Friday 30th October. World Teachers’ Day is an opportunity to celebrate the 160,000+ hardworking and dedicated primary, secondary and early childhood teachers in NSW.
2020 has been a year like no other with teachers having to adjust their teaching practices in response to the outbreak of COVID-19. There are lots of ways we can show our appreciation and support! We encourage parents to have a chat with your children at home and ask them what they would like to do to send their teacher a message of thanks this Friday. Thank you!

Reminder about our Community Classifieds...
Our Community Classifieds are a great resource to tap into for announcements about what activities and programs are happening in the local area, as well as Steiner - or related - specific workshops further afield. If you are interested in furthering your personal development, we recommend taking a look each fortnight to see if any of the classifieds on offer call to you.
As an example, this week sees: our IT & Music teacher, James, with our Music tutor, Rosie, performing a gig together at No5; our Receptionist, Reanne, hosting a ceramics workshop; the local environmental organisation, OzGREEN, calling on tomorrow's change makers; many Steiner focussed workshops in Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne to further your understanding and interest in anthroposophy; plus more. Take a look below at our "Community Notices".
Waldorf Today...
Another great resource for further articles on Steiner education and anthroposophy is to sign up to the Waldorf Today newsletter. It is quite Northern Hemisphere focussed, but has a lot of informative and inspirational articles on a wide range of relevant topics for our country as well.
In a recent Waldorf Today newsletter, there was an article about The MacLean brothers who set three world records when they rowed across the Atlantic – and say they have their schools to thank – their first school was a Rudolph Steiner school in Edinburgh. Incredibly inspiring!
In today's newsletter, they included a helpful article entitled "If You Find Yourself Doomscrolling Your Way Through Social Media, Help Is at Hand" –
checking for apocalyptic updates is compulsive and saddening, reconnecting with yourself and others may be the cure. Very informative!
We encourage parents to find positive articles that inspire and inform you.
Term 4 fees...
Invoices for Term 4 fees were sent out last week, with payment due in full by this Friday 30th October unless arrangements have been made to pay by instalments. The forms are available on our website or by calling the front office. A reminder that the school has Fee Payment Incentives to encourage and reward timely payments. If you have any questions regarding your recent invoice or statement, please email accounts@chrysalis.nsw.edu.au.
Bellingen drive through COVID testing clinic...
The hours of the clinic have changed to 9am - 9:30am, Monday to Friday. Same location – 15-23 Watson Street, Bellingen. Parents are asked to phone to pre-register anyone being tested - 6655 0663 - a lot of patients can be tested in a short period of time when they have details in advance. The change in time is to ‘beat the heat’ for both the staff wearing PPE, and patients waiting for testing in hot cars. The opening hours of the clinic may expand if case numbers expand in NSW and demand for testing increases.
Blessings...
