Fire & Rescue visit Chrysalis...
Dan and Duncan, from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 221 Bellingen, visited the school last week to teach students all about fire safety and how to "stop, drop, cover and roll"! From the look of the photos - it seems the kids have it mastered...
Let's hope they never have to use the skills in practice, but we do so appreciate Dan and Duncan bringing the awareness to the students in a safe, fun manner!
Thank You and Farewell Assembly...
This year the school's Thank You and Farewell Assembly will be held on Tuesday 1st December from 11:45am-12:30pm. At this assembly we will farewell the very special Kamala, Reanne, Joanna and Kelley and also say thank you to the parents who help regularly in class. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions we will not be able to open the invitation to other parents.
Chrysalis Music Film screening...
Earlier in the year, when the ground looked shaky for an End of Year concert, we decided to make a music film. A film that celebrates the music we make at Chrysalis and some of the profoundly beautiful landscapes of this Gumbaynggirr Country we call home.
We are really excited to invite parents to the Bellingen Memorial Hall to attend a screening of the 'Chrysalis Music Film' on Tuesday 1st of December. The film will run for approximately 35 minutes. There will be three screenings to allow our community to view the film in a COVID safe environment.
The students in Classes 5 to 8 will be viewing the film in the afternoon but are welcome to attend again with parents in the evening. There will be an opportunity for the younger children to view the film at school.
The film involves all students in Classes 5 to 8 while children in Classes 2, 3 & 4 have also participated in one song.
All parents have been emailed regarding invitations. Please note students from Classes 5 to 8 must have a permission form completed in order to attend the day time screening - the form can be found here.
All families who wish to attend an evening screening must fill in a separate booking form confirming numbers and details here.
Please be aware that there will be no follow up reminder to respond, nor bookings taken through the office.
RSVPs by this coming Monday 30th November at the latest.
Hand Foot & Mouth disease...
There is a case of hand foot and mouth disease in the school community. This is generally a mild and relatively common viral illness, usually occurring in small epidemics in younger children. Symptoms include fever, body rash and blister like sores on the palms, soles and in and around the mouth.
In accordance with the National Health & Medical Research Council and the NSW Health children need to be kept home until the blisters have dried up. Here is a link to further information about Hand Foot & Mouth disease.
High School Bus 2021...
The High School bus will be departing from Bellingen Park Street bus stop at 8:15am from the commencement of 2021. The reschedule is being made to fit in with class timetabling requirements.
Blessings...
