BookArtsLA

We are a new, nonprofit organization devoted to bringing the beauty of printing, binding and the collecting of all types of handmade books to the public. Located in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles, our 1600 square foot space houses letterpresses, a bindery and workspace for up to 20 students.

Our website is still under construction, but here is our calendar of classes for August and September.

Hope to see you at our wonderful space.

Class Schedule: Introducing A New Letterpress Printing Class

Letterpress printing in a new direction - BIG!
We will print from a collection of wood type emphasizing the letterform as a shape. Working collaboratively, we'll design and print a series of large sheets filled with type (we also have advertising cuts and the option to make your own block). Enjoy them as is, or they can be the foundation for collage, the basis of a drawing, or include them as sheets in your own books or journals.

This class is for all levels of students. We will be printing so wear clothes that can get dirty and long hair must be pulled back. All materials will be provided.

Limited to 6 students. $100, all materials included. Enroll.
