This month the Bulletin will feature the work of our many photographers. (The editor of this newsletter had a hip replacement on May 14th and missed a few events.)
The only text piece is written by Pat and is a continuation of our new series in answer to the question “Is there something about yourself that you would like Harboursiders to know that you think they might not already know?"
(On a personal note, in accordance with all those at Harbourside who have had joint replacements before me, I want to say that there can be no better place on earth to recuperate after surgery than Harbourside. The support and kindnesses received have been overwhelming and restorative.
THANK YOU! (Arlene)
Examples of the healthful and beautiful meals brought to the convalescent:
ClaireHu's delicious Chinese dinner involving chicken, dried lilies and wood mushrooms.
Margaret's beautiful lunch involving dragon fruit -- no doubt inspired by our Chinatown visit.
I hail originally from Exeter Ontario and have lived in Sooke for 49 years as of this October 1st. My biggest passion is collecting beach glass which ensures that I enjoy many beaches in my travels as well as those here at home. I have yet to do more than sort pieces by colour and store them in glass containers for viewing. However I believe one day I may actually create something with them!
Watercolour painting has been another passion of mine for the past four years and that now includes oils and acrylics! I retired from the Liquor Distribution Branch of B.C. in 2013 after 34 and 1/2 years, most of which I spent working at the Sooke Liquor Store and retired from there as Manager Grid 18.
I am a ten year member of the Sooke Harbourside Lions and Vice Chair of the SECHS Board for Ayre Manor. After years of involvement in many organizations in Sooke I have managed to whittle my participation down to these two! (Pat)
