GONE FISHIN'

Harboursiders are enjoying summer in a number of different ways that keep them ‘out of the picture’. Some travel Up Island, some visit neighbouring islands, some travel back to a favourite place in the coulees of southern Alberta, while others leave the country all together. Many of us welcome our families and friends who come to share in the pleasures of West Coast living. Those of us still here seem to be gathering regularly on the wharf these days to share meals and the pleasure of one another’s company. Here are a few snapshots (Harboursiders noticeably absent) for our August Bulletin.

Warren's skilled craftsmanship is evident here in the two things he has recently made while enjoying our new leak-proof workshop; on the left, a beautifully-designed and crafted paddle and on the right a charming little plant stand he made for Shirley.
Two tall volunteer plants have shown up in the flower pots on Jack's deck this year. He has been nurturing them but would like to know what they are. If you know, please tell him.
Meet Kaz (dog) and Tai (cat) in a peaceful moment.  Marie says they are not usually such good friends.
Four of Ken's bumper crop of turnips this year, grown at Sun River Gardens and in his smaller Harbourside garden plot.
Trust Doug to find another spot for a garden! Check this one out in front of his parking spot. Keep an eye on it for future additions.
The willd garden on the slope behind building 4 is looking lovely these summer days with many native species springing up side by side with planted varieties. Stewards for this interesting garden are Priska and Donja.
Rene grew these extra healthy geraniums by feeding them her outdated vitamin pills!
Katherine and Chris sent along this picture of a bear in the early morning, on the beach just below their unit.
BEFORE: Here's Rene peeking out from her precarious perch in the apple tree ready to begin pruning and loving it!
AFTER: Here are the deer helping to clean up the pruned branches and loving it!

There are currently no units available for sale or rent at Harbourside.
