The Jungle Babbler - Tropical Birding's newsletter

March 2016

Red-billed Streamertail, photographed on a recent tour to Jamaica; it is the national bird.

Spring is now in the air in North America , with the first arrivals of migrants having already come in.

Spring is a time for birding, socializing, and combining the two! Tropical Birding will be attending various birding and photography events, and can then meet you face-to-face. We will be leading free daily guided walks in April in High Island in Texas; attending Florida's Birding and Photofest in late April; leading walks and giving talks in Michigan's Whitefish Point Spring Fling in late April/early May; be present on the Magee Marsh boardwalk in Ohio for the first half of May; be giving presentations, and leading walks in Indiana Dunes Birding Festival in May; attending Point Pelee's Festival of Birds in the same month, and, lastly, featuring at Michigan's Tawas Point Birding Festival, where further talks will be given, and guided walks will be led by some of our guides. We sincerely hope to see some of you there, to bird together, or share "war stories", look back on past tours, or look ahead to tours on the horizon.

Recently completed trip reports include a set departure tour into the Andes and Amazon of Eastern Ecuador; a custom tour covering both Northern and Central Colombia, a search for two key bird families (Picathartes and Egyptian Plover) in Ghana in West Africa, and and an endemic sweep on the Caribbean island of Jamaica.

If you are looking for a tour to join, the latest special offers, a tour to look back on, or where to come into contact with Tropical Birding soon, all the details can be found below...
