last week, it has been 20 years since GdB was founded. 1995 in the beautiful city of Bruges under the passionate leadership of Edgar Pisani, former French minister of agriculture and former European Commissioner. We wish to go at least another 20 years independent & influencing the European policy development and we hope you’ll get to be there to help us do so.

'Can EU CAP it?’ Project has been 'greened' at IGW in Berlin

The project has brought to all the visitors a taste of what the platform is about: CAP Game, CAP Basic videos and CAP Pro e-learning course. CAP Game has an exciting competition running until the end of this month for three top players to win a fully funded trip to Rome. During the fair, the 325 000 people that visited Hall 3.2 had a chance to play the CAP Game directly at our stand in order to win € 20 voucher, if they score the highest score. In total nearly 900 players tested their knowledge and 20 winners were selected. Read more here...

CAP Basic - Future of Rural Areas launched!

CAP Basic video: Future of Rural Areas

From February 21 - March 1, 2015 Groupe de Bruges will be present at Salon d'Agriculture in Paris, France. We will be present with an exhibition stand (Pavilion 4, stand 4 C 030) and will organise several events during the week, including the launch of third CAP Basic video - Management of natural resources, CAP Game local competitions and a seminar on Thursday morning February 26, on "Management of natural resources: will the new CAP make agriculture more sustainable?"

Quality from the mountains – Prosperity for people & territories

The IXth European Mountain Convention took place in Bilbao (Spain) on 22–24 October 2014, organised by Euromontana (European Association of Mountain areas) and the Basque Government.During 3 days, 300 mountain stakeholders discussed the opportunities for the development of European mountains given by the new optional quality term “mountain product” and the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Discover here the conclusions of the interactive working sessions.
This conference was organised within the European project “A New CAP – Mountains of opportunities”. For further information, don’t hesitate to have a look at the project’s website.

We are happy to have another two new members to the Groupe de Bruges family. Natalia Brzezina (read more about her below) and Bernd Müller who will be introduced in our next issue. If you would like to become a member, please send your request through our website
Natalia Brzezina
Natalia Brzezina is a PhD candidate in the Division of Bioeconomics, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at KU Leuven. She graduated with honours from Warsaw University of Life Sciences and from Cranfield University. During her studies she was an active member of the Student Scientific Association for Agriculture “KNR” and the Euroleague Student Association for Euroleague of Life Sciences. 
In addition to her farming background, she gathered professional experience as a trainee inter alia in plant breeding company Hodowla Roślin Strzelce Sp. z o.o. (Strzelce, Poland), in beverage processing plant Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd. (Milton Keynes, UK) and at European Commission in the Organic Farming Unit of Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development (Brussels, Belgium). In her current research within the EU FP7 project TRANSMANGO Assessment of the impact of global drivers of change on Europe's food and nutrition security, she focuses on how policies targeted at food security, particularly at the European Union level, contribute to the European food system’s resilience to shocks and stresses.
