Ilios Project Updates: Making curriculum in the health professions more meaningful in a complex and changing world.
curriculum management for the health professions

RELEASE NOTIFICATION

We are pleased to let you know that the latest update of Ilios is out and available. This release, v3.87.1, contains a number of important bugfixes and improvements, including a fix for the LDAP directory lookup utility.

What's the buzz? Tell me what's happening:

Since the release of the most recent version of the API in 2020, there has been a burst of effort from the development team to update the platform code to conform with constantly evolving requirements in our native technology stack and with upstream dependencies. This is, in the open source world, more of a steady state than a single effort, but for Ilios it is important to note the impressive achievement this focus has been over the past year, and just how it is now paying off.

One example is the management of Program Years. Because of the current ongoing refactoring, that module - in particular the creation of new Program Years - is now on the order of 30 times faster than in the previous code. Many areas where large amounts of data are posted or replicated will also see comparable performance improvements in the coming weeks.

Some of the areas we intend to tackle in this respect include
  • bulk user creation/assignment/update
  • session copy
  • learner group copy
We will keep you alerted as these improvements continue to roll out.
if you have questions please don't hesitate to send us a note at support@iliosproject.org.

Highlights in this release:
  • API Changes: None
  • Schema Changes: None
  • Other Changes: Continuing code refactoring; improved performance for Program Year management; corrected error calling to LDAP directory search
