We are once again "green" and on track in all four quadrants.
Notable activity in the last month has included a lot of background work on the platform, as well as outreach to a number of new schools expressing interest in Ilios use -- and re-affirming our ties with the existing community.
The most notable update is that our long-planned feature allowing the linking of sessions is now complete, with the launch today of v3.61.0
. We will be activating these features in the frontend early next week; if your code is up to date at that time, the new features will automatically activate.

This feature comes in response to numerous requests to better represent pre-requisite work ("prework") associated with a specific event or activity, particularly when that prework is to be done asynchronously, online, or otherwise out of band. The new feature allows for the direct association of any ILM session with any other session in the same course, displaying to learners as "due by" the occurrence of that activity in their own personalized schedule.
To set a link, just click on the "due prior to" option in any ILM, and select the desired target session from the list provided.
The linkage will be expressed in the Week at a Glance,
and in all linked calendar events:
To facilitate this, linked ILMs will now be presented in a separate box below the calendar grid when the calendar is visible.
Additionally, by drawing on the now available session attributes of `prerequisite`
in the API, it is possible to identify and capture these relationships easily in your analytics and reporting.

Course Administrator Calendar Display:
We have extended the calendar and "my courses" view for users added as course administrators to include all their administrated courses; for session administrators, all associated offerings will now be displayed in their calendars as well.
Highlights in this release:
- API Changes: No breaking changes, version at 1.35
- Schema Changes: No breaking changes.
- Other Changes: improved search speeds; extended calendar and My Courses display for administrators; fixed bug allowing possible deletion of vocabulary term titles; auto-replaced any deleted or NULL vocabulary term values with a placeholder "title missing" value.
Please be sure to updates your systems to get the latest, greatest code!
How to Update Your Frontend:
The Ilios frontend is always up-to-date on our content-delivery servers at Amazon S3, but you will need to regularly run a console command on your backend instance in order ensure that your users are seeing the latest version and that they are getting all the latest features and bugfixes. To make sure you users are receiving the latest frontend code at all times, just follow the steps described here:
Though you will probably never need to deploy the Ilios 3 Frontend on your own servers, the source for the frontend code can always be found at https://github.com/ilios/frontend/releases.
The changelog for updates specific to the frontend can be viewed here.
