Ilios Project Updates: Making curriculum in the health professions more meaningful in a complex and changing world.
curriculum management for the health professions

No release this week, just a quick note to keep you up to date. We had another excellent monthly Code Jam this week, where we made significant headway in our efforts to architect a general search tool for Ilios (and beyond!). We've also made some nice performance improvements to how the `My Materials` page loads in your browser, and added improved controls for course rollover and user name management.

Two community notes: First, congratulations to Johmarx Patton, MD, MHI, who was recently announced as the new Director of Educational Technology and Standards for the AAMC. The Ilios Team and community welcome him to this role and we look forward to working with him in the future!

Second,a reminder for schools who may still be running older versions of Ilios: we are no longer able to provide support for versions earlier than v3.12.0, released on May 27, 2016. If your deployment of Ilios is older than v3.12.0, we advise you to upgrade to a more recent version as soon as possible. If you are still running v2.4.8, instructions on migrating from v2 to v3 can be found here. For assistance in updating your systems, please as always feel free to contact us at

if you have questions please don't hesitate to send us a note at

Please contact us if you are interested.

How to Update Your Frontend:
The Ilios frontend is always up-to-date on our content-delivery servers at Amazon S3, but you will need to regularly run a console command on your backend instance in order ensure that your users are seeing the latest version and that they are getting all the latest features and bugfixes. To make sure you users are receiving the latest frontend code at all times, just follow the steps described here:

Though you will probably never need to deploy the Ilios 3 Frontend on your own servers, the source for the frontend code can always be found at

The changelog for updates specific to the frontend can be viewed here.
