“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living...Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough...Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”

THIS WEEK IN ILIOS

Welcome to a brand new year with Ilios! We hope you have had an excellent new year's season, and are as optimistic about what 2019 may hold for us as we are. Our goal is to maintain and even accelerate our development pace which we set in 2018, and continue to be as responsive as possible to our users and your needs.

No release this week, but if all continues as planned, our next release will contain our long-awaited ability to link sessions and ILMs to identify pre-work and associated activities within the curriculum. We are hoping to have that release out within the next two week cycle, after completing our user feedback and review.

We have many more exciting things planned for this year's roadmap, not the least of which involve our always-improving systems architecture, mobile accessibility, targeted micro-app development, and much more. If you have thoughts about what you'd like to see in Ilios, we want to hear it! Email us, or post on Github, and let us know.

if you have questions please don't hesitate to send us a note at support@iliosproject.org.

The latest code and the complete changelog for this release, as always, are available for download here:

LTI DEPLOYMENT: You can now plug the Ilios events & calendar dashboard directly into your LTI-compatible LMS pages. It's as easy as clicking your mouse (two or three times). In order to deploy, you will need to be provided with a secure access key. Please email us for complete instructions at support@iliosproject.org.

TRAINING: Are you interested in getting a focused training for your power Ilios users and managers in your school or institution? We can do that for you: 1.5 - 2 days of focused training on the most effective ways to leverage Ilios as power users, and deliver information to your students and faculty in the best way possible, custom-tailored for your needs and methodologies. Please contact us if you are interested.

How to Update Your Frontend:
The Ilios frontend is always up-to-date on our content-delivery servers at Amazon S3, but you will need to regularly run a console command on your backend instance in order ensure that your users are seeing the latest version and that they are getting all the latest features and bugfixes. To make sure you users are receiving the latest frontend code at all times, just follow the steps described here:
 https://github.com/ilios/ilios/blob/master/docs/update.md

Though you will probably never need to deploy the Ilios 3 Frontend on your own servers, the source for the frontend code can always be found at https://github.com/ilios/frontend/releases.

The changelog for updates specific to the frontend can be viewed here.
