We continue to stay "green" and on track in all four quadrants.
This month we are continuing our focused efforts on improving web accessibility, enhancing search tools, and improving offerings management to include the ability to associate individual learners directly with activities, as well as groups. We will have more details on these items next month.
Our hosting architecture continues to be enhanced, and now includes larger, more powerful and more responsive computing platforms, at the same low price - as well as integrated search. If your school isn't yet hosting with us, we encourage you to consider it
as an option.
For those of you interested in web accessibility issues (and we all
should be interested!), keep an eye out for news in our updates after October 15th. We will be publishing an updated -- and hopefully excellent -- accessibility score for Ilios, as well as our WCAG rating.
You asked: We delivered
This month we launched a number of enhancements which have been outcomes of direct user requests: our new search tools, allowing for broad search of the curriculum; improved curriculum inventory tools, allowing for the verification of data against the AAMC and LCME standard tables; and the addressing of web accessibility across the platform. In the coming month, additional efforts will include improvements to the offerings manager, including the ability to add individual learners to activities -- not just learner groups.
Additionally, in response to a key accreditation mapping need from our School of Pharmacy, we will be working to extend the ability to use vocabulary terms to tag not only programs, courses, and sessions, but also to directly tag objectives, allowing for greater flexibility in responding to APCE needs. If this will be of value to you in your mapping requirements or interests, we'd love to hear from you as well.

How to Update Your Frontend:
The Ilios frontend is always up-to-date on our content-delivery servers at Amazon S3, but you will need to regularly run a console command on your backend instance in order ensure that your users are seeing the latest version and that they are getting all the latest features and bugfixes. To make sure you users are receiving the latest frontend code at all times, just follow the steps described here:
Though you will probably never need to deploy the Ilios 3 Frontend on your own servers, the source for the frontend code can always be found at https://github.com/ilios/frontend/releases.
The changelog for updates specific to the frontend can be viewed here.
