Welcome to this edition of the Ilios post-Curfew world-turned-upside-down Status Report!
It is hard to believe another month has slipped past during this challenging and transformative time. As we move into the summer season I hope you all are doing what needs to be done to prepare for the coming year, to keep your students and colleagues safe, and to somehow in between all that do some interesting, exciting, and progressive work!
We continue to maintain Communications and Development quadrants into Yellow
this month, out of regard for the current crisis and its impacts on our daily work lives. Otherwise, we are currently in the green.
This past month saw the launch of our new Objective Tagging feature, as well as the preliminary launch of the first major update to our API in five years. Over the next three to four weeks we will be in a somewhat fluid state, until we complete the API transition to v3 (later this summer). As noted, our intent is that all v1 API functionality and ODBC tables will remain in place until the end of December 2020. After that time they will be fully deprecated, and any analytics or integrations relying on either the API or direct database access will require updating to the new API and schema.
The latest release, v3.76.0,
includes improvements to the dashboard displays of prework and activities, as well as the updates to the API, and the new tagging features. We continue to finalize the work on the pending release of our updated offerings manager, as well as the new "tutor" user role, both still planned for rollout later this summer.
While the future is full of uncertainty, the budget here remains on track, and we do not foresee issues in the near to midterm due to any COVID-19 related issues.
