, and welcome to another week with Ilios!
Today we have posted the latest release, v3.74.3,
which contains a number of changes for improving the Ilios platform.
We have included an update to the way Ilios manages learning objectives. Program Year Objectives now may be set to "active" or "inactive. Inactive objectives are no longer made available for selection as parents to course/session objectives, but are not deleted from the system (unused objectives can still be deleted if desired). Active/Inactive status is noted by the "lightbulb" icon:
We've also fixed a number of bugs, correcting a rollover issue for posting a course to the same year, saving issues for groups and instructor assignments, fixing a data element in session copying, and cleared out a variety of deprecated libraries and code issues.
Hosted schools will receive this update automatically; for self-hosting schools we recommend updating to the latest code at your earliest convenience, and always being sure to update your frontend as well!
if you have questions please don't hesitate to send us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org

How to Update Your Frontend:
The Ilios frontend is always up-to-date on our content-delivery servers at Amazon S3, but you will need to regularly run a console command on your backend instance in order ensure that your users are seeing the latest version and that they are getting all the latest features and bugfixes. To make sure you users are receiving the latest frontend code at all times, just follow the steps described here
Though you will probably never need to deploy the Ilios 3 Frontend on your own servers, the source for the frontend code can always be found at https://github.com/ilios/frontend/releases
The changelog for updates specific to the frontend can be viewed here.
