ATTEND

Allegra! My name is Cinzia and I am the new intern for Culture and Education at the Consulate General. As colder and darker days are fast approaching here in New York, I am excited to spend more time exploring the city’s beautiful museums. On my first trip to New York some years ago I accidentally stumbled upon a piece of home at the MET Museum. Ever since, Sunrise on the Matterhorn by Albert Bierstadt has been imprinted on my mind and has become one of my favorite pieces of art. Although the 19th century artist is celebrated for his lavish paintings of the American West, Bierstadt’s idyllic and lesser known paintings of Swiss landscapes invite to dream and let the viewer forget the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle.
