LEÏLA FALL RECOMMENDS
STUDIO SEITZ IN WILLIAMSBURG

Bonjour à tous! My name is Leïla and I am currently interning at the Consulate General of Switzerland in the Department of Economic Affairs and Communication. For the second half of my stay in New York, I opted to move to my favorite neighborhood, Williamsburg, where I discovered the Swiss furniture manufacturer Studio Seitz. Kevin Seitz, who is descended from generations of Swiss furniture makers in Berneck, and his husband Rob van Wyen, warmly welcomed me to their 1,300-square-foot showroom and home in a former babka factory built in 1912. Their studio features candleholders, benches as well as dressers adorned with special stamped metal ornaments referring to the Appenzell tradition. Kevin and Rob's challenge is to offer a longevity of furniture through Swiss craftsmanship and its quality tradition. Their heritage collection, which I had the pleasure of previewing in their Williamsburg studio, is steeped in elegance and finesse, all within a minimal aesthetic framework. Studio Seitz, which is still undergoing renovations, will open its doors to the public in late summer 2022. I highly recommend that you visit these passionate and friendly designers.
