On January 9, 2023, Brookwood Place HOA Board held its monthly meeting at Thom's house. In attendance were 2023 Board members: Michelle Kring, Thom Tomlinson , Ashley Meier, Denise Fast and Jan Kinney. Ron Davis attended via phone.

Next meeting
Our next meeting will be held on February 13 at Thom Tomlinson's house at 7:00. All residents are welcome to attend. If you'd like to attend, please notify Jan Kinney at jkinney1833@gmail.com at least one day prior to the meeting.

President remarks
Thom made a motion to approve Ron's move to the Architecture position. The motion was approved.
Thom asked board members to look at what we want to accomplish this year.

Ashley advised that she wants to send a form to residents to determine what they want for social activities this year.
BWP will use the pool area for most of our social activities as we have access to lights and electricity at the pool.
|
|
Michelle advised that our pool contractor, has advised that the price of pool chemicals is going up in 2023 and that we have budgeted for it.
We may need to have some workdays this spring for work at the pool.

We are looking for someone to take over the Landscaping position on the board. If you may be interested in the position and want more information, please contact Thom Tomlinson at 913 558-4424.

We had budgeted money in 2023 for tree trimming, but we were able to do the tree trimming in 2022. A motion was made and approved to reduce the 2023 tree trimming budget from $4500 to $2500.

BWP Book Club
The next meeting of the Book Club will be February 9. at 7 pm. Brenda Wray will be hosting. Please bring a snack to share. Beverages will be provided. Please contact Cindy Edgington at cedgington@yahoo.com if you have any questions or would like to attend.
The February book is "The Girl with the Louding Voice" by Abi Dare. The unforgettable, inspiring story of a teenage girl growing up in a rural Nigerian village who longs to get an education so that she can find her "louding voice" and speak up for herself. It is a simultaneously heartbreaking and triumphant tale about the power of fighting for your dreams.
Bunko
Bunko is on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 pm and rotates through different hostesses. All ladies are welcome! If you are interested in joining on a regular basis or even just for one event, please contact Denise Fast at denise4taxes@gmail.com.

Wanting to make updates to your home? Great!
In order to ensure the work aligns with our Bylaws, residents must remember to contact Ron Davis regarding any exterior changes. Projects must be approved by the architecture committee before the work begins, EVEN IF YOU'VE OBTAINED APPROVAL FROM THE CITY. This includes any exterior changes or additions, new roofs, fences, landscape changes, driveways, patios, decks, painting the exterior of your home (even if it is the same color choice) and any project for the outside of your home. BWP Residents' children can advertise their services in the monthly newsletter free of charge. We will have a section with the child's name, contact info, and services offered (ie: mowing, babysitting, etc.) If a more extensive ad is wanted, a regular ad (see below) can be purchased. Our regular advertising will continue to be offered. If you have a business or service that you wish to advertise to our neighborhood, please consider using our newsletter as the advertising avenue. The BWP resident costs are quite low and will reach all of our BWP residents.
Payments should be made to "Brookwood Place Homes Association" and mailed to our address: PO Box 15372, Lenexa, KS 66285.
