Trash
We have heard your concerns about the lateness of our trash and recycling pickups. Trash and recycling pickup is really a problem all over the area due to staffing issues. The trash pick up issues are not just affecting Republic. Waste Mgt and KC disposal are also having trouble hiring enough driver staff.
The current Brookwood Place contract is still the cheapest of all the trash haulers in our area. We know that in any new contract with any provider our rates will be increasing due to the inflation we have all experienced over the last 2 years.
Our current negotiations for a new contract with Republic, to begin in April 2023, has an increase of 11%. This includes weekly trash recycle and yard waste. (Many communities only get recycling and some yard waste limited to 10 bags every 2 weeks).
Due to the service interruptions we will be seeking some return on current bills.
