August Meeting Highlights

Hello neighbors!
August 9, 2021 Brookwood Place HOA Board held its Monthly Meeting at Thom Tomlinson's house. In attendance were 2021 Board members: Thom Tomlinson, Denise Fast, Michelle Kring, Ashley Shadel and Jan Kinney. Kevin Knipp attended via zoom.
Topics of discussion included:
- Ash trees
- BWP Fest
- pool toys

Next Monthly Meeting
Monday, Sept. 13 | 7:00 p.m. at the pool, weather permitting.

All residents are encouraged to attend any of the monthly meetings. The HOA Board holds monthly meetings every second Monday of the month.
|
|
Our Second annual BWP Fest is scheduled for September 24 - 26! This three day event will feature family-friendly activities, food trucks and lots of fun! Look for more details but here are the highlights:
- Friday - Family night - movie in the green space behind the pool house. The Lenexa Fire department has been invited.
- Saturday - more adult focused: food truck and music in the evening.
- Sunday - yoga and breakfast at the pool.
We are looking for some help with these fun events:
- Tweens and teens to help with kids' activities on Friday, September 24 around 6:30 pm
- Anyone with lawn games they'd be willing to let us borrow for Friday evening.
- A fun band or DJ to provide music Saturday, September 25 starting at 7:00 pm. (the work will be pro bono, but we will feed your band members or DJ and allow for a tip jar.)
- A yoga instructor or trainer to lead a family yoga or workout class on Sunday morning at 9:00 am.

There was an incident when a young child was injured by a non-pool toy that was left in the pool. Please make sure that any toys you bring to the pool are designed for use in a pool. Keep everyone safe!
The last day for the pool will be Monday, Labor Day, September 2.

THANK YOU to those of you who have addressed your hazardous Ash trees. There are still several Ash trees in the neighborhood that are a risk hazard for the sidewalks and streets that need action from our neighbors. The city of Lenexa may take action, so it is important to remove any hazardous trees, especially near sidewalks and streets as soon as possible.

BWP Residents' children can advertise their services in the monthly newsletter free of charge. We will have a section with the child's name, contact info, and services offered (ie: mowing, babysitting, etc.) If a more extensive ad is wanted, a regular ad (see below) can be purchased. Our regular advertising will continue to be offered. If you have a business or service that you wish to advertise to our neighborhood, please consider using our newsletter as the advertising avenue. The BWP resident costs are quite low and will reach all of our BWP residents.
Payments should be made to "Brookwood Place Homes Association" and mailed to our address: PO Box 15372, Lenexa, KS 66285.
