On March 14, 2022, Brookwood Place HOA Board held its annual meeting at Thom Tomlinson's house. In attendance were 2022 Board members: Thom Tomlinson, Michelle Kring, Denise Fast, Ron Davis and Jan Kinney. Kevin Knipp and Ashley Meier attended via zoom.

Next Monthly Meeting
Change of date
Our next meeting will be held April 4, 7:00 pm, at Thom Tomlinson's house, 8432 Hall St. All residents are invited to attend. Any resident who wishes to attend should contact Jan Kinney (jkinney1833@gmail.com) at least one day prior to the meeting since the meeting format may change to zoom instead of in-person.

As we enter into the spring season, please remember that any kind of exterior changes, repairs or improvements to your home (roofs, fences, decks, painting, driveways, exterior repairs, to name a few, must be approved by the HOA Architectural Committee prior to starting the work. This is to continue to maintain the architectural feel and look of Brookwood Place. The BP HOA governing documents allow daily fines by the HOA for work that has not been approved. Many changes and improvements also require a city permit. The city can inform the HOA of any permits granted.

Solar Panels
The members of the Board of Directors have received reports from our subdivision neighbors that they have been approached by various vendors regarding solar panel installation on their homes.
One of our HOA subdivision members requested our consideration and approval of solar panels to be installed on their house. After a presentation by the member, reviewing subdivision documents, reviewing Lenexa city rules and regulations and discussions by the Architectural Committee, it was decided at the March 2022 BP Board of Directors meeting that there will be no approval of solar panels for Brookwood Place subdivision.
If you are approached by these solar panel vendors please inform them that solar panels are not approved by the HOA.

Garage Sale/Large Trash Pickup

The Brookwood Place annual garage sale is set for Friday and Saturday, June 3 and 4. Large trash pickup is set for Tuesday, June 7.

Mark your calendars! The social committee is planning our annual Easter Egg Hunt for Saturday, April 9 at 10:00 am at the pool. The backup date if we have to change due to weather is April 16, also at 10:00 am. In addition to the Easter Egg hunt, we are planning on a food truck for brunch.

Wanting to make updates to your home? Great!
In order to ensure the work aligns with our Bylaws, residents must remember to contact the Architecture Chairperson regarding any exterior changes. Projects must be approved by the architecture committee before the work begins, EVEN IF YOU'VE OBTAINED APPROVAL FROM THE CITY. This includes any exterior changes or additions, new roofs, fences, landscape changes, driveways, patios, decks, painting the exterior of your home (even if it is the same color choice) and any project for the outside of your home. BWP Residents' children can advertise their services in the monthly newsletter free of charge. We will have a section with the child's name, contact info, and services offered (ie: mowing, babysitting, etc.) If a more extensive ad is wanted, a regular ad (see below) can be purchased. Our regular advertising will continue to be offered. If you have a business or service that you wish to advertise to our neighborhood, please consider using our newsletter as the advertising avenue. The BWP resident costs are quite low and will reach all of our BWP residents.
Payments should be made to "Brookwood Place Homes Association" and mailed to our address: PO Box 15372, Lenexa, KS 66285.
