The Year 2015 So Far
The year 2015 has brought a lot of positive changes to the AAU community. In January of this year, AAU opened the doors of it's beautiful new main campus located at Letenska 5 in the magnificently restored Thurn-Taxis Palace. The new building contains 17 classrooms, one visual arts studio, a cafeteria, 2 student lounges, and is connected to the gorgeous Vojanovy gardens, where students can relax and study between classes.

On April 29th, AAU officially opened it's doors at the 25th Anniversary celebration-an event attended by faculty, staff, alumni, and prominent members of the community including U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Andrew Schapiro, Jansen Raichl, one of our institutions founders, and General David Henley, a distinguished guest from Chapman University in the U.S. To see photos of the event, click here

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, in April 2015 AAU was recognized as a Candidate for Accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission, which provides institutional accreditation to universities like Stanford, Caltech, Berkeley, Chapman and others.

Anglo-American University is the first and only non-U.S. foreign academic institution to be formally affiliated with WASC, a position that holds great significance.

AAU Alumni Summer Mixer

AAU would like to welcome the graduating class of 2015, all former graduates of AAU, as well as AAU faculty and staff to the AAU Alumni Summer Mixer. The event will be held on the AAU Campus on Thursday, July 2 from 19:00-22:30. The theme of the event is "Suit Up." A formal email invitation will be sent in the upcoming week.
Brenda Flanagan will teach a Creative Writing class at AAU starting Monday, June 1st and ending Friday, June 19th from 17:30-21:15. The class runs Monday-Thursday for 3 weeks. AAU Alumni will have a 10% discount on this course. You can expect to take specific skills away from this class that you can apply to your working life, such as compose a memorable short story, creating short assignments that will lead to a fully developed story, and refreshing your English writing skills. Individual meetings with the professor are crucial, and are a major aspect of this course. This course is particularly encouraging to students whose first language in not English, but who wish to use the writing of fiction as a way to strengthen their English skills.
To join the course, please contact for more details.
