This week's theme is DRAGONFLIES! Follow us on Facebook for fun activities related to the weekly theme, and if you are tracking your children's time spent outdoors for the 100-Hours-Outside Challenge, make sure to mark off that you have done a DRAGONFLY-themed activity to get a bonus entry for the grand prize drawing at the end of summer, a family canoe trip from Loveland Canoe and Kayak! Start this week's challenge by checking out this week's Species Spotlight! Thank you to Kathie Bowers from Kabby Photography for these beautiful images.
One of Ohio's most prolific dragonflies, the Ebony Jewelwing, is featured in this BONUS Species Spotlight. Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Matt Metzger caught this magnificent close-up! What do you think this fierce predator has caught for lunch? Click to find out!
As our community outreach programs grow, we are looking for prizes for kids who participate in our summer programs. We would love to help promote your organization through our Tech-Free Tuesdays and 100-Hours Outside Summer Challenge! For the past several years, Blooms and Berries Farm Market has graciously donated "Fall on the Farm" passes to their awesome autumn festival, and Loveland Canoe and Kayak has provided a family canoe trip on the river for our grand prize. We aim for prizes that contribute to our goal of getting kids unplugged and outdoors! If you have a connection with a local business and would like to donate something, please reach out
  • Frisbees, water bottles, balls, bags, stickers, etc. with your company's logo
  • Free child's ice cream cone or treat at a local restaurant
  • Coupon for X% off a purchase at a local store
  • Passes to a fun event that your organization sponsors
  • Something else fun and creative!

Your financial support will enable us to meet our goals and continue our mission to support the Warren County Park District. Friends of WCPD is a tax exempt 501c3 non-profit organization. Individual memberships are $15.00. Additional donations are greatly appreciated!

Our programs' success is because of our wonderful supporters, including Friends of the WCPD, Park Staff and Commissioners, local nature professionals, and Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists. If you know a teen looking for community service hours, please contact us!
