Intersectoral Collaboration
|
A recent survey on Inter-sectoral Collaboration (ISC) sent to Health, WASH, and Nutrition country cluster coordinators and teams (with 38 responses from 28 countries) found that:
- 71% routinely participate in ISC working groups at the national level, other than the Inter Cluster Coordinators Group (ICCG) led by OCHA;
- 63% routinely participated in sub-national level ISC Working Groups;50% have a developed Integrated Package of Interventions (IPI),
- 32% have a somewhat developed IPI while 18% do not have an IPI;
- 50% of the developed IPI are being implemented on the ground and another 26% were being somewhat implemented (not the full package of services).
Main constraints for ISC and the implementation of the IPI at national and at sub-national level were limited funding and staffing. At the sub-national level, ability to advocate for and leadership on ISC and IPI implementation were additional constraints. Respondents identified the three top priorities for global clusters as: to support the country clusters with developing a work plan for ISC; training on ISC; and support in developing guidance on ISC at country level. Joint presentations at the Global Health Cluster (GHC) Annual Meeting include:
