 ELECTRONIC RECYCLING COLLECTION EVENT
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH, 2015
NEW HOPE BOROUGH

The County is happy to announce that we will be holding an electronic waste recycling collection on September 12th. It will be held at the New Hope-Solebury High School (182 West Bridge Street, New Hope, PA 18938) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and all County residents will be welcomed.

The county is also working to coordinate one last electronic recycling event for 2015 in Quakertown in October or November. Details will be released when approved and available.

Due to a combination of factors, the County of Bucks and neighboring Southeastern Pennsylvania counties are unable to hold their annual electronic collection events this year. A change in the laws regulating electronic disposal, the inability to secure a qualified Contractor, the lack of recycling processors for older tube TVs, and a drop in the scrap value of electronic components have all contributed to ending the collection program this year.

Please see the County website for a list of electronic items we will be accepting on September 12th at the New Hope-Solebury High School or have residents called the Bucks County Planning Commission with any additional question at (215) 345-3400.

Road work planned for Route 113/Bedminster Road
PennDOT recently notified Bedminster Township that work will be taking place on Route 113/Bedminster Road between Route 313 and Route 611, with a projected start date of September 17, 2015. At this time, the only information available on the scope of work is that it will consist of a 5" Base Repair covering 6.12 miles of road. Additional updates may be available if PennDOT provides additional information.
Pennridge School District is back in session on Monday, August 31st.
When driving, remember to be watchful of stopped buses, children on bicycles, and pedestrians.
According to research by the National Safety Council, most of the children who lose their lives in bus-related incidents are 4 to 7 years old, and they're walking. They are hit by the bus, or by a motorist illegally passing a stopped bus.
The National Safety Council offers suggestions for keeping children safe as they travel to and from school. Read here about how to share the road with buses, bicyclists, and walkers.
Be alert; children often are unpredictable, and they tend to ignore hazards and take risks.
Take a few extra precautions to ensure that everyone has a safe and healthy school year.
