The Education of our children is THE MOST IMPORTANT contribution we make to their future and the future of our Constitutional Republic.
May 10th Florida Citizens Alliance (FLCA) is hosting a Collier School Board Candidate Forum for the upcoming August 28th Primary. This event will be at the Marco Island Historical Society. The forum starts at 5 PM for a brief Meet-&-Greet the candidates and the 90-minute forum will start promptly at 5:30 PM.
Today, our Florida public schools are well behind most of the other states. We rank 47th of 50 on the nationally-normed ACT test. 50% of our 2.8million children in Florida’s public schools cannot read or do math at grade level. The curriculum has become politically charged, teaching socialism, religious indoctrination, undermining our constitutional values and in many cases, subjecting our children to age-inappropriate sexually explicit material.
Here in Collier County our public school system (CCPS) has a $1 Billion dollar budget, combining operating and capital annual budgets for 46 thousand students- one of the highest per student rate in the state.
The state grading system declares CCPS to be an “A” rated school system but they don’t tell you that our schools are graded on a curve and it takes only 62% test scores to be A-rated.
The moderators will be Marco Island City Council Chairman Jared Grifoni and Marco Island Academy founder Jane Watt.
Attend this forum and other Collier County school board candidate forums. Ask your tough questions and understand the candidates’ views on issues. School Board races are countywide. Get to know their values. VOTE INFORMED!
