Kids Mental Health Pierce County in collaboration with Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital’s YES Program is excited to announce our upcoming webinar series: Social Emotional Learning & Trauma Informed Practices with Youth. This webinar series is facilitated by Education and Behavioral Consultant, Tovah Denaro, MS.Ed. This series will go throughout the 2021-2022 school year with sessions occurring monthly. The series is open to all Pierce County professionals who serve youth, as well as parents/caregivers of youth in the community. Sessions occur from 4-5pm, with a 30 minute question and answer to follow.

DECEMBER SESSION OBJECTIVES:

  • Learn how trauma impacts the brains of youth.
  • Understand the hidden trauma of chronic stress and anxiety.
  • Learn and practice trauma informed approaches through an equity lens.

The training focuses on how complex trauma effects childhood development in infants, toddlers, school aged children and adolescents. The training will explore ways to support healthy development, including tips on helping children regulate.
