The Ballard House Celebrates Legacy Luncheon 2014
150 guests gathered at The Club at Falcon Point on October 15th to celebrate the first Ballard House Legacy Luncheon. "Mattress Mack" Jim McIngvale, the keynote speaker inspired the crowd with his heartwarming and funny life stories. A huge thank you to our event sponsors:

Gayle and Phil Huffman

Grace Care Center Katy
Network Funding - June Blanchard
Startex Title, Stewart Title, Cinco Ranch, Suzanne Brown Insurance, B Connected Technologies

The generosity of our guests was overwhelming. The event raised over $65,000 which will help fund the daily operations of The Ballard House. Together we are "leaving a legacy".
                  VIP VOLUNTEERS OF THE MONTH
Our canine friends Wyatt and Wrigley bring their master, Denise Einkauf to The Ballard House each week to spread cheer as they freely give smooches to the guests, volunteers, and staff. They trained their friend Molly to follow in their paw prints and now she leads her master, Georgia Dworshak, to The Ballard House as well. Research has shown that therapy dogs can have measurable health benefits in patients. The Ballard House family looks forward to their doggy kisses and waggin' tails every week. Thank you Denise for your generous hospitality to Ballard House guest pets at Waggin' Tails Pet Ranch.

Thanksgiving....the season when we pause to give thanks for the many blessings we have received  throughout the year. We, at The Ballard House are thankful for each and everyone of you who have shared your time, talents, and special family recipes with our guests. Because of your generosity, The Ballard House has been a "home away from home" for hundreds of families from near and far. Our table has been the gathering place for fellowship where strangers have embraced one another, shared their trials and  triumphs over home cooked meals, and experienced first hand Ballard House Hospitality. Thanks to you, our Dinner Angels.
TWO EASY WAYS TO SUPPORT THE BALLARD HOUSE

WINNERS # 1!!  Susan Hendrix, BNI Katy President, spearheaded a dinner catered by Bullritos for Ballard House Guests enhanced by a Premier Jewelry Party hosted by Nancy Ehlinger, Independent Distributer who raised $360 for the charity and donated several gorgeous pieces of equal value for the charity's next silent auction.

Ballard House Honored With Eagle
Scout Project
Ryan Phelps, a junior at Cinco Ranch High School completed his Eagle Scout project and delivered it to the Ballard House October 16th. Ryan has been a scout since the sixth grade and currently enjoys playing on the Cinco Ranch Varsity Golf Team. Ryan worked on the project for several months. The requirements included meetings with the recipient, plans on how to finance, who would  be involved in executing the project and a commitment to complete it in a manner that displayed leadership. Ryan’s project was to design and construct  two five foot cedar benches enhanced with a prominent B carved in the back for Ballard House. He had trouble finding someone to carve the B the way he envisioned it should look, so his Dad Eddie and he tackled a new skill, wood carving. The result is outstanding! When ask why he chose the Ballard House and this particular project, Ryan said, “I wanted to do something that would have a long lasting effect and something that people would use every day.”
