Help Us Change Lives ~ Donate Today
From Our Founder
by Sandra Johnson
Sandra Johnson, FounderI would love to be sitting down with a cup of coffee with each of you and share my heart as we celebrate our twelfth anniversary. I am filled to overflowing with gratitude for your support! It has been an incredible journey with God for myself and our wonderful team at Triad Ladder of Hope. As we close this chapter of our “childhood” (the first 12 years), we hold onto beautiful memories, unforgettable lessons, unforeseen disappointments, and life-changing successes.

Several years ago I stood in the airport with a trafficking survivor as we waited for her three children to arrive—she had not seen them in five years. It was a joyous reunion! Two years later, we again waited in an airport where she was able to meet her two grandchildren for the very first time. It's moments like this that make the difficult labor of our mission worth every effort.

Over the last year, God has opened the doors for us to speak at a wide variety of churches, schools, and civic organizations. We have had many opportunities to train professionals and educate members of our communities both on how to recognize human trafficking and what to do/not do should they come in contact with a potential victim. Your support is critical to our accomplishing this part of our mission.

As we transition into “adolescence” and begin our thirteenth year fighting this organized crime, we need your help now more than ever. Human trafficking is on the rise, and we have already experienced an increase in calls for victims in need of our help. As the Lord brings us survivors, we step up to do whatever we can to help them heal and adjust to a life of freedom and independence.

A little over a year ago we took in a woman who was a victim of sex trafficking from childhood until we gave her a safe haven: She came to us at the age of 42. As a result of the services we provide—counseling, mentoring, housing, and legal assistance—she has made tremendous strides in her life and has already earned her CNA.

Thank You for Your Support
by Bob Paulson

It is only because of faithful partners like you that we are able to assist survivors, raise awareness of human trafficking and provide training for professionals in law enforcement and other fields.

Many gave generously at the end of 2016, and our Third Annual Gala raised a record amount to go toward the safe house we hope to operate as the Lord leads and provides.

We are grateful for any and all donations, but we’d love to see as many friends as possible commit to give monthly. Even 50 cents a day—$15 a month—would help. It could provide emergency gift cards to victims who are referred to us by law enforcement, or it could help when a client has an unforeseen need that she is unable to afford as she begins to navigate her new life of freedom.

Another great way to help abolish modern-day slavery is to talk to your pastor about your congregation joining our 1 in 100 program. We are looking for 100 local churches who will partner financially with Triad Ladder of Hope by making a $100 per month commitment to stand up and say that slavery will not be tolerated in our community.

A Firm Foundation ~ 2017 Gala Report

By Alex Herring
On Jan. 28, 2017, Triad Ladder of Hope hosted its third annual fundraiser and awareness gala at 6:30 p.m. in the Charles Mack Center in Mooresville, NC.
Gala Montage

Highlights from the evening included live music from harpist Michelle Cobley, a keynote address from Kendall Wolz, assistant director at the Baptist Friendship House, and a powerful survivor testimony from one of our clients that moved many attendees to tears.
2017 Gala

Our wide array of silent auction items ranged from a "Refuse to Be a Victim" self-defense package to a spa giveaway that collectively helped raise more money than any previous gala! As always, we are profoundly thankful for the way God continues to meet the needs of our ministry and the women we serve.
Kendall Wolz shares her story with TLH

We hope you'll join us for next year's gala at the same time, same place:

Reflect Hope (and Gratitude)
By Sherry Earnhardt, Reflect Hope Coordinator
This month for the Reflect Hope update, I want to divert your focus for just a moment from our girls to someone else who is quite special to all of us. For the past two years an unnamed servant has tirelessly, month after month provided the pampering bags for our visits into the clubs. Many of you have read our updates over that time and you are aware of how her offerings have made immeasurable differences for the girls. These are girls who will never know her name. They may pass her on the street and have no idea of the blessings her dedication has poured into their lives. She has heaped love, beauty, truth, and comfort onto them without ever physically being in their presence.
Doris & Mitzi

Mrs. Doris Yost has sown seeds of righteousness into the clubs and we the Reflect Hope Team were able to see firsthand the joy her gifts brought to a dark place. She designed each bag to carry the love of Christ to girls who may not see it in any other way. She told them each month, you are beautiful, you are worthy and you are loved. Her gift of knit hats to them was the catalyst to a night of joy and picture taking as the girls squealed with laughter at all the selfies! For one of those joyful girls it was only a matter of days before her life ended way too soon. On our next visit, her friends pulled those photos out and we remembered together and smiled.

Because of Mrs. Yost’s faithfulness that precious girl was able to hear about the forgiveness and salvation of Christ. I don’t know what her response to Him was, and that is left to be answered in eternity. For now, we just simply follow where He leads and do what He asks us to do while he keeps working miracles around us. He takes bar stool chats and turns them into Holy Ground. He takes the simplest of gestures and brings about redemption. He takes a pampering bag and lights a path to salvation.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, God’s special possession,
that you may declare the praises of him who
called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

1 Peter 2:9

May we all strive to set the darkness ablaze one simple act of faithfulness at a time. For His Glory!

If you have a passion for reaching the lost for the Lord, please pray about joining us in our adult entertainment ministry: Reflect Hope. Each month, we enter the clubs in Salisbury, NC to build relationships with the girls and hand-deliver a bag of goodies. We pray over each bag before it is delivered, and we have been able to help a few women get out of the industry. We also have a need for a Pampering Bag Coordinator (Salisbury). This person will be in charge of putting together approximately 20 "pampering" bags each month which are distributed to the girls on the night we visit the clubs. To join in this vital ministry, please contact Mitzi Weber at 704-762-1261 or write to

"I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him."
