SPRING TECH 2020: March 18 (Rolla) & March 19 (Marshall)

Make plans and register now for Spring Tech 2020, the Alliance's annual "spring training", for employees who design, operate and maintain utilities.

10:00 am to 3:00 pm, each day
- Identical training each day, so pick the most convenient location.
- Concurrent tracks each day - one for electric and one for water/wastewater
  • Cost: $70 per person (MPUA members) & $85 per person (non-members)

Northeast Regional Utility Roundtable: Macon (Feb. 7)

Northeast region utilities, please plan to join your city utility peers in your region by attending this regional roundtable meeting in Macon. The regional roundtables are informal utility system information-sharing events for city administrators and managers, utility directors, and utility staff members. Lunch is provided at each meeting. USDA Rural Development is hosting a technical assistance training for prospective ReConnect applicants on Jan. 29 in Columbia. If you are preparing applications or considering applying for the program, this is a great opportunity to learn more about technical aspects, receive feedback on your concepts, and have questions answered.

Free! Energy Efficiency Certification

High bill complaints? A free class for utility staff members on how to make a big difference in home energy bills could increase your customer satisfaction.

On March 6 in Columbia, the Building Performance Institute (BPI), Columbia Water & Light and MPUA are teaming up to provide a free class in Building Science Principles. Building Science is the science of understanding how various components of a home interact to affect the home’s energy expenses and overall performance.

Professionals fielding utility billing or energy efficiency related questions, such as energy technicians, contractors or call center representatives, will benefit from this one-day course on Building Science Principles. The class is offered FREE of charge to MPUA utility members. Registration is available for a maximum of 20 people. Participants interested in BPI certification may register for the online exam for $75.
