April 2014 Newsletter - National Marine Educators Association

In this issue

Dear NMEA Members,

Happy Earth Day! If you’ve been keeping up on our new website and you’ve seen the most recent blog post, you know that NMEA is embarking on its first ever Membership Drive, kicking off today and continuing through World Oceans Day on June 8! As we challenge ourselves to bring new members into the NMEA family, I thank all you who have made this vibrant organization all that it has come to be!

As you all know, NMEA is a primarily volunteer-run organization and thrives because of you, our members. Your dedication, leadership and enthusiasm are what propels us forward and enables us to impact ocean literacy and stewardship, encouraging the appreciation and understanding of our ocean planet both near and far.

Each NMEA member brings individual talent, perspective and heart…creating the unique pulse that flows through our organization. Please take a moment to remember why you became a member of NMEA and consider sharing our goals and accomplishments with a friend or colleague and encouraging them to add their voice to our community.

Susan Haynes

NMEA President, 2013-2014

We are pleased to announce our first ever Membership Drive! Kicking off today, in honor of Earth Day, and continuing through World Oceans Day (June 8), we have seven solid weeks planned of celebrating initiatives such as ocean literacy and highlighting the people that make us who we are: our members.

Thanks to our colleagues and supporters, by joining during our Membership Drive, you will be eligible to win raffle prizes including packages from aquariums throughout the U.S. and our Grand Prize – a GoPro camera! Check out the full details here and #CatchtheCurrent >

For a little member fun, can you describe NMEA in just three words?
