Series 2 - Now in Development
Are you Indigenous AND funny? Are you a fan of the ABC TV show Black Comedy? Do you reckon you've got what it takes to write for the show?
Well ... We're looking for you!
ABC Television's Indigenous Department in association with Screen Australia's Indigenous Department is calling for Indigenous writer and performers to be involved in a workshop for the second series of Black Comedy.
The workshop will be a hothouse environment where you will learn the basics of sketch writing, workshop ideas, write them up and then test them out.
We are looking for people who are collaborative, have something fresh and original to say, motivated, quick-witted and above all funny .. oh, and of course Indigenous.
The workshop will be residential near Sydney for five days in March.
What we need from you?
1. A short bit about yourself and your background - a CV or a biography or just a rave about who you are, what you've done and why you think you'd be good at this.
2. An example of your writing or performance to demonstrate your potential for comedy. This could be: a written piece, a video, a completed program, a radio show, a standup show, a link to a sketch on YouTube - anything you've done that exhibits your writing and/or performing talents. Either snail mail it in or send us online link to the material.
We're looking for original ideas - NOT involving existing Black Comedy characters, sketches or scenarios.
3. Confirmation that you are available for the workshop dates and that you are willing to travel to Sydney if you don't already live there, expenses paid.
