What has been on my heart most this week are the schools: teachers, staff, students, etc... who have already begun learning (whether on campus or at home) or will begin this coming Monday. Nothing about the last 6 months has been easy, and everyone is weighing impossible decisions about health and safety, emotional/mental well-being, and practicality. I have been praying for peace, for excitement, and for health for all of our young people and the adults committed to their education. I hope you will join us on Sunday in Parking Lot Worship at 9am when we will say a special blessing over all of these.

I want to provide an update on our campus activities/reopening. Our leadership team is committed to Parking Lot Worship through the end of September. At that point we will reevaluate what our surrounding counties are reporting, and what guidance the Governor and State leadership has given. Hopefully, we will be able to start worshiping in person soon after, so wear your masks and pray the numbers don't jump up again! We are anxious to be together back in the building, but we are also committed to protecting all of our people.

I am praying for each of you. I came across the Elm Springs UMC Mission Statement that says: Being disciples, making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world with excellence and passion. It's not an easy task, but it is simple. If we continue to be disciples of Jesus who make disciples, we will be a part of God's transformation of the world right here in Elm Springs. I'm grateful to be a part of that - I hope you are too!

Grace and Peace,
Pastor Jennie

Thank you for the donations and supplies you contributed to support our teachers, students, and school staff!
We were able to provide everything the schools had asked for!
We can bless students and families in our community, just by picking up a few things at the grocery!
We finished our Summer Food Pick Up program with great success! We served 37 families our final week - our largest group by far. We are preparing now for our school year Backpack Ministry. These are items we use to make our SoulFood bags. Please bring any donations to the breezeway and drop them in the plastic tub marked "Food Donations." Thank you!
