PASTOR'S CORNER
Elm Springs friends and family,
I hope you'll join us in our joint Parking Lot worship this Sunday at 11am. This week begins the season of Advent. Even though we usually think of the month of December as a rat-race to get everything done before Christmas, as Christians Advent provides us with an excuse to pause, reflect, and think about what it means for us and for the world that God chose to be born as part of humanity. What an incredible gift.

Our Advent series is Four Christmases. We are looking at Jesus' birth or origin stories in each of the four gospels. We'll begin with the gospel of Mark. (Spoiler: there is no birth story in Mark!) What does Mark's gospel offer us in preparation for Christ's birth? Join us on Sunday to find out.

We will provide updates on December worship times and locations in the coming weeks.

2021 Commitment Cards:
If you have turned in your 2021 Commitment Card, thank you! We have over $104,000 committed to our 2021 Ministry Budget. Our ESUMC Finance Team and I are planning our 2021 Ministry budget. Your financial commitments for the coming year are essential to the making of our ministry plan. If you have not filled out your 2021 Commitment card, there's still plenty of time! Prayerfully consider how you might give joyfully and generously next year, and share that commitment with us. Fill out your card online here: https://www.elmsprings.church/2021-commitment-card.html or drop it in the offering box on Sundays.

Churchwide Advent Study:
I invite each of you to be a part of a churchwide Bible study on Sunday mornings during Advent at 9:50am in the Fellowship Hall called Christmas in the Four Gospel Homes. This study will be led by me, Brandon Williams, Lea Brown, and Ralph Harvey. We will look at how each gospel introduces Jesus to the world. If you have little ones, bring them with you and we will supply busy bags so that no one is excluded.

Click here to register. If you want to participate from home via zoom, please indicate that on your registration.
  • When? November 29 - Dec 20 @ 9:50am
  • Who? All are welcome!
I thank God for each of you!
