Elm Springs friends,
What an incredible week it's been! I've enjoyed getting to meet many of you, talk to you over the phone, and interact via Facebook. Thank you for the warm welcome to me and my family. Know that I am praying for each of you during this time of transition. I hope you'll pray for us as well!
Our scripture for this Sunday is John 3:1-17. This passage is packed full of some of my favorite images from Scripture, but one thing that has resonated with me is the idea that like the wind, the Spirit blows wherever it wills. We can't always see God's Spirit moving, but we can feel it and we can hear it. Where are you feeling the Spirit move in your own life these days? My prayer is that the winds of heaven will blow through our community in ways we cannot even imagine.
Three things to note:
1. Worship: We will worship online this week (7/12) via YouTube and Facebook, and possibly next week (7/19). We are working on some parking lot worship services coming soon. Our goal is to get something planned and executed by the end of July. Keep watching for these emails and updates on Facebook for more details.
2. Facebook: Speaking of Facebook, have you "liked" our Facebook page? If not, make sure you do! This will help you see posts and videos in your timeline as they are shared. Plus, when you see our posts, you can share them on your own page, which is an excellent way to help connect ESUMC with the community, and invite our friends and neighbors to check out what God has in store for us!
3. Porch Visits: If we haven't had a chance to meet, and you're comfortable with a social-distancing visit on the porch, please email me at email@example.com. I would love to come and say hello (in a safe way)!
If you need to contact someone from the church, we are answering the phones from 10am - 2pm Monday - Thursday.
Let us all be the hands and heart of Christ this week!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Jennie Williams
