PASTOR'S CORNER
Friends,
As I am preparing my own children to begin this new school year, I've been thinking about all the students, teachers, and faculty who are preparing to return to schools in a variety of ways aimed at keeping them all safe. I've been praying for the kids who will enter school either in smaller, more distant classes or from the convenience of a computer screen. I've been praying for the parents who've had to weigh health issues, convenience, and their own availability when making decisions about enrollment. None of those options are what we planned, and yet all are commendable. Finally, I've been praying for the teachers and administrators who are forced to reinvent the way they teach and connect to their students in just one summer. Most of all, I continue to pray that this virus that has radically altered lives around the world will be eradicated as quickly and efficiently as possible. I hope you'll join me in these prayers.

I don't know all the future holds, but I do know that as followers of Jesus, we are called to take care of others, to be a witness for Christ, and to bless those around us. I believe Elm Springs has made exceptional effort to do this for our community, and we continue to think of new ways to share God's love, including a school supply drive! We are gathering travel/individual-sized Kleenex, glue sticks, and No. 2 pencils for students at Helen Tyson. Be on the lookout for supplies needed for some of our other local schools.

I want to say thank you for your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service and your witness during this time! I'm so glad you're a part of the body of Christ here at ESUMC!

Grace and Peace,
Pastor Jennie
