PASTOR'S CORNER
Elm Springs Friends and Family,
Last Sunday we opened our Sanctuary for worship for the first time since March. We had 51 people in attendance, and I pray it was as meaningful for those of you who were here or watched online as it was for me. We also celebrated World Communion Sunday at The Lord's Table and received a 2nd Mile offering for global scholarships through the UMC.

On top of all that, the staff and leadership board surprised me with an official welcome and pastor appreciation gift of flowers, a card, and a cookie reception after each service. I want to share how much that meant to me and to my family. Since we arrived in July we have felt graciously welcomed by the community, and for that we have been so grateful. This was just an added blessing. I want to say a special thanks to each of you who have called, come by, said hello at worship, brought gifts, and reached out through email or Facebook during these last 3 months. Brandon and the kids and I are excited to continue meeting people as we gather back together. Needless to say, we have felt very blessed!

This Sunday we are beginning a new series called Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity. For the next four weeks we will examine what life could look like if let go of a scarcity mentality and embraced God's abundance. I hope you'll join us each week. If you would like to follow along with the book that accompanies this series, you can order it here.

Our Finance Team is already planning for ministry in 2021. We are preparing a Ministry Funding Plan that will help support current missions and ministries of Elm Springs UMC, as well as anticipate how God might lead us into new opportunities in the future. To help with this, we will be asking each of you to prayerfully consider sharing an estimate of giving for 2021. You will receive a Commitment Card to fill out, and will return them to the church on November 1st when we celebrate this exciting time! This Commitment Card (estimate of giving) allows us to plan, with integrity, the stewardship of your tithes and offerings. In so many ways, Elm Springs is a generous and giving church, and I know we will continue this in the future.

Grace and Peace,
Pastor Jennie
