What are the most important things in your life? Where do you devote your time, energy, and resources? When we look at these things, we see very clearly what our priorities are. This Sunday we will continue our sermon series Enough: Finding Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity. True joy doesn't come from what we have, but who we are and what we share. We will be studying Jesus' parable in Luke 12:13-21 with the theme Cultivating Contentment. I hope you'll join us for worship this Sunday!

On November 1, we will wrap up our Enough series as we will talk about what it means to be Defined by Generosity. This is also All Saints Day, a day in which we honor in both services the members of our church who have gone on to glory over the last year. We will also celebrate our Commitment Sunday, and bring our 2021 Commitments to help fund ministries at Elm Springs UMC. Our Finance Team is actively preparing our 2021 ESUMC Ministry Funding Plan. To help us plan with integrity, we will be asking each of you to fill out a Commitment Card with your estimate of giving and return it to the church. You'll receive these cards in the mail next week, and we will have extras available on campus, as well. I hope you will prayerfully consider supporting the ministries God has planned for ESUMC next year and in the years to come. Your gifts help connect people to the transforming work of Jesus Christ! That's something to be grateful for.

Something else to be grateful for: We've hired a new Youth and Communications Coordinator. Brooke Hobbs will be joining our ministry team on November 23! Brooke is incredibly gifted in both relationships with young people and communication, and she will be an incredible asset to the ministries of Elm Springs UMC. She brings other talents such as music and graphic design, and she is excited to meet our youth and help them grow in their faith in Christ. On November 1, we will have a time of welcome for Brooke between services. If you have students in 6-12th grade, or if you just want to say hi, I hope you'll stick around after parking lot worship, or come by before Sanctuary worship to meet her.

My prayers are with you!
Pastor Jennie
