splash-of-stars PTO Elections  splash-of-stars

If you come to only one PTO meeting this year, come to this one.

The PTO Annual Meeting happens
Tuesday,  May 17th at 6:30PM in the school auditorium. We'll vote for officers, SLT and Board Members for 2016-17 and hold a Parent Recognition Ceremony for volunteers. We'll also circulate sign-up sheets for committees and review the proposed 2016-17 budget. Please join us as we celebrate our efforts this year and look ahead to next!

If you want to run for office but haven't put in your name, nominations are open right up until the election.  You can also become a candidate at the meeting.  If you are interested in serving next year, or would like more information please contact Cynthia Yahia at cynthiayahia@gmail.com.

There are no absentee ballots, so show up and make your voice heard!

Did you know?

The PS 9 PTO has formed a Transportation Team!

Do you want safer streets for PS 9 students? Tired of dodging forklifts on the sidewalks of St. Marks?  Our first ever Transportation Team is addressing parent concerns about traffic and child safety issues around the school.  Tired of all the amber gamblers and speeding drivers? The PS 9 PTO has signed on to the Transportation Alternatives’ “Families for Safe Streets” campaign which is asking Albany for speed cameras for every NYC public school.

We're also advocating for more crossing guards on Vanderbilt and bike racks for children's bikes. We'll generally raise awareness of safety and alternate transportation options (think bicycles). Please join us! If you would like to get involved, contact Nick Peterson at nicholaas@gmail.com.
