The Hope We Hold
A simple definition of hope is to know that your future will be brighter than your past. Restoring hope to the broken hearted in Uganda is our mission. As I write, Uganda is under another full lockdown. The fear and spread of COVID has put the country in desperate place. It is wreaking havoc on the already destitute families that we serve. Many are hopeless and longing for a brighter future. We have an opportunity to walk alongside our brothers and sisters during this time, to bend lower so we can raise them up. We have an opportunity to be a family to the fatherless, widow and lonely, to bring the Good News of Jesus and put Him on display. Jesus is our Living hope and hope is rising. Thank you for partnering with us as we steward our small part of God’s massive Redemption Story. During this time of uncertainty and urgency, there’s a fundamental truth that gives us hope - that together, we can do extraordinary things!
If you feel led, please consider giving to Amiina Ministries so we can continue to navigate the ever-changing circumstances currently taking place in Uganda.
All Unto Jesus,
Marcy Smith for the Amiina Ministries Family

Cornhole Tournament
Our 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament was so much fun! As we heard from those who were able to join us, many said that it was so special to gather with like minded friends and family in our community and rally around a mission. The LORD was definitely present.
A big shout out to Pentwater Patch, John VanderMaas Builder, Ottawa Kent Insurance, DK Homes, Rachel B. Photography, West Michigan Lumber and Amare Wellness (Pam Otto). Our corporate sponsors made it possible! We also had many volunteers working behind the scenes to make the day special.
We raised over $13,000 and 8 children were sponsored! We continue to hear of people who want to be involved, sponsor, or learn more, and all we can say is, Praise the LORD! Our hearts are full! Thank you to all of you who came! Together we can restore HOPE.

"Just after the children had reported back to school, the President of the Republic of Uganda announced another 42 days of lockdown. It is a tough time for us all, especially the children, as they are not certain of what will come next. For us, this has called for revision and re strategizing of the next 42 days. We are working together so that we can benefit our beneficiaries and caregivers during this difficult time."
- Erinah Kyome, Executive Director in Uganda

"Meeting Kenneth and his family was a crazy mix of emotions. It was joyful, seeing Kenneth’s beautiful smile again, the contagious joy of his family, and getting to hear how Amiina Ministries is helping his family. It was also humbling to see their happiness and resilience in the midst of conditions so unlike what I am used to, and then to see how often I take so many things for granted. Kenneth and his family were a beautiful example of joy and resilience in the midst of poverty. But throughout the whole experience, I was thinking about the greatness of God: how He cares so deeply for each of His children- from Grand Rapids to Mityana-and how he orchestrates connections across cultures to create His family. Visiting Kenneth showed me how even though our cultures, houses, and traditions might be different, we are sheltered and covered by God’s awesome love. This experience will be on my heart for the rest of my life and I already miss Kenneth and his family, but I am comforted in knowing that God knows and cares for them, just as He does for each of his children."

There is nothing like meeting a child who you have been pouring into. Seeing their home, and family, telling them they are special and loved, and sharing the Gospel with them is something very special.
If we take strip everything else away and focus our attention on God's commands, we find that this is what we as believers are called to do; to love our neighbor.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these."
Mark 12:30-31
