Dia Mrad had a decent day job photographing homes for a real estate company in Beirut’s classic Ashrafieh district. But as he went about his assignments, visiting a dozen or so listings a day, he started turning his camera toward palatial villas in the area that were very much off the market, often shooting them from the balconies of apartments he was getting paid to photograph.
