As part of the Racecourse Road Pin Oak Crescent Streetscape and Activation Plan Project, a range of community activities will be held to celebrate the local area.

The Box @ Pridham Plaza is part of these activities and opens for the first time tomorrow @ 11:00am. The Box will Pop-Open to celebrate all things local; the people, the place and the  food for the next three Saturdays between 11:00am-1:00pm.

Saturday 6 June

On Saturday 6 June there are three exciting activities @ The Box. You can listen to  the sounds of Annie & Bern who recently played at the Kensington Market. Annie & Bern play1960s vintage romance with charming originality. You can check them out here as well as see them live tomorrow @ The Box.

You can be a part of a traditional (East Africa) Eritrean coffee ceremony with the Eritrean Mother's group. The coffee ceremony will be held between 11:00am-1:00pm so come down and enjoy a traditional East African Coffee and learn about this traditional ceremony.

And don't forget to bring the kids along as there will also be spontaneous story telling by artist and puppeteer Colleen Burke in The Box throughout the Pop Up event.

Little Boxes

36 little boxes will be given out to the community to go on an adventure around Flemington. 15 boxes went out on their first adventure today and have found their way to many different nooks and crannies around the local neighborhood. Tobias sent in this photo today showing one Little Box had made it's way to Newmarket Station.

So look out for one of the Little Boxes and feel free to relocate the Little Box to a favourite location in your neighborhood. You can also take a photo of it and email it to or tweet with the hashtag #theboxflemington.

Hope to see you @ The Box tomorrow.
