Data Community Profiles
We’re excited to welcome Statistics.com, a leading provider ofdata science and statistics education that advances students’ careers, to the edX partner community. Statistics.com is the training platform of Elder Research Inc., an internationally recognized data analytics solution provider that advises hundreds of leading businesses on data strategy, data science, data engineering, and training. Statistics.com is launching with three Professional Certificate programs on edX. Professional Certificates are a series of courses designed by industry leaders and top universities to build and enhance critical professional skills needed to succeed in today's most in-demand fields. The three programs focus on machine learning operations (MLOps) for three different cloud computing platforms: Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). MLOps lies at the core of the AI Engineering function, and these programs will teach learners how to combine data engineering and data science skills to deploy machine learning models across Azure, AWS and GCP. The programs are Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) with Azure, Machine Learning Operations with Amazon Web Services (MLOps with AWS, and Machine Learning Operations using Google Cloud Platform (MLOps using GCP). All programs are currently open for enrollment today. "Most machine learning projects fail. In most of those cases, the machine learning model works, but deployment is difficult and often leads to maintenance headaches, so it is abandoned," says Peter Bruce, Chief Learning Officer of Elder Research and Founder of Statistics.com. "In this program you'll learn how to set up data pipelines, embed models in them, implement monitoring mechanisms, configure the action that results from monitoring, and much more that will help you realize continued success from your machine learning projects."

Snorkel AI, Inc. is the developer ofSnorkel Flow, an end-to-end enterprise machine learning software platform powered by programmatic labeling. Snorkel Flow provides a simple no-code user interface that enables subject matter experts (SMEs) to easily create labeling functions that produce massive amounts of training data in hours, without requiring weeks or months of hand-labeling. The platform also helps data scientists and machine learning engineers to iteratively train, deploy, monitor, and adapt AI applications to changing inputs and objectives. Together, Snorkel Flow helps you leverage your entire organization's knowledge to fuel AI/ML development, all while keeping your data private by avoiding off-premises manual labeling. Based on research funded by DARPA, DOE, NIH, ONR, and others, trusted by the world’s leading organizations, and committed to serving the public sector, Snorkel unlocks thegainsof machine learning without thepainsof hand-labeling.
ATA, LLC (Advanced Technology Applications) is the full stack data science company focused on providing scalable, sustainable capabilities to improve organizational performance, optimize investments, reduce risk and gain competitive advantage (i.e. using data as a strategic asset). With a focus on solution design and capability implementation, ATA integrates across all aspects of data science; from strategy, data management, collection & ingestion and data architecture, to analytics, visualization and access (i.e. the Full Stack). We have focus offerings in semantic integration, streaming analytics, Data and Analytics as a Service, Data Science as a Service and Investment Optimization. ATA's core team of highly educated and experienced MS/PhD scientists and technologists, full stack developers, business analysts and subject matter experts provides a powerful end-to-end capability following the entire data life-cycle. Data Ops DC is for anyone interested in the intersection of Data Science and DevOps
Statistical Seminars is a meetup group focused on providing awareness about of different statistical methods using free statistical programming software. We also support other Meetups and organizations with the same goals. Our events are free and typically occurs every month.
Statistical Programming DC is a meetup that loves code. We cover everything from data munging, machine learning, numerical and scientific computing to data visualization using open source tools with a heavy emphasis on R and Python. Our meetups focus on practical tips and tricks in performing tasks with these programming languages.
DSDC is the flagship meetup for DC2. We meet monthly for lectures on topics in data science and then retire for data drinks at a local watering hole. Many of our lectures are focused on models and algorithms, but we also hold talks on applications of data science or other topics of interest.
NOVA Deep Learning is a group for anyone interested in meeting to discuss Data Science, Machine Learning, Big Data, Data Analytics, Big Data Analytics Data Visualization, Predictive Analytics, Open Data, Tableau, Python, Apache Spark, and other topics related to Data Science. All skill levels are welcome. I started this group to meet other data enthusiasts. Looking forward to exploring data with everybody. Follow us on twitter @novadatascience (https://twitter.com/novadatascience).
The Full Stack Data Science Meet-up is oriented towards promoting a “full stack” approach bringing much needed integration to the data science conversation across multiple disciplines ("defragging" data science, so to speak) and how to deploy data science capabilities at enterprise scale. We meet in the Tysons Area approximately every other month.
GDATADC is a meetup for womxn, trans men, and nonbinaries who are data scientists, those who want to be data scientists, and supporters of gender diversity in data science. We have monthly meetups with content ranging from speakers to networking events.
Data Community DC is about all things Data Science and self Development. Every monthly meetups put some finishing touches on your data science knowledge base.
Data Visualization DC is a non-profit professional group that meets monthly to discuss data visualization, data communication, infographics, exploratory data analysis, charts and graphs, perceptual psychology, and more! Our members are data journalists, data scientists, business intelligence professionals, and others who tell stories and persuade with data.
