We are delighted to share very exciting and great news - Play2Give are a contender in this year's 'Oscars of Didcot' - the 2015 Business & Community Awards (BACAs)
We have been not just nominated but shortlisted in these prestigious awards celebrating the very best of Didcot .
We are finalists in the 'Best Fundraising Innovation/Campaign' category and are up against Felix Fund and Abingdon & District Young Farmers - both very worthy and deserving - and we wish them all the very best too!
The Didcot BACAs - now in their seventh year - will take place on the evening of Friday November 13th at Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot and will see 12 gongs handed out.
The BACAs recognise and reward excellence amongst local businesses, community groups and young enterprises and we are honoured to be amongst them in what has seen 2015 be our most successful and record breaking year of fundraising ever in our 8-year history!
In 2014 we celebrated raising a record £9,838 for our charities, but this year we have smashed that and gone on to raise over £13,500!!
The Gala Evening will see the awards ceremony itself interspersed with local acts and performances including a band playing with live music in the company of local VIPs, dignitaries and guests of honour.
If P2G should win, (though we ourselves really can't imagine us walking away as winners on the night), along with the award we will receive £100 prize money towards our work - which would be a real boost for us so we can carry on our work in 2016 to raise many more thousands for all our charities in need!
We would like to thank each and every one of our amazing supporters that have and continue to support us so well whether its through raising money, organising events, or getting involved in our events and donating money, as this special recognition wouldn't be without you - our loyal supporters! A
nd, of course we would like to thank all those who nominated Play2Give in the first place for this very special awards initative - we are truly humbled and feeling very proud - and thank you to the Didcot BACAs for recognising us - we look forward to a fantastic night - please keep your fingers crossed for us everyone!
