Last night I got to go on an adventure outside- with flashlights!- to look for frogs. Every other Wednesday night we have the pleasure of hanging out with local outpatients and families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill.
We found a frog! I'm not sure of the species but this little froggie delighted our entire group!
I'm always amazed at the kids' and parents' willingness and ability to engage in the activities that we have planned. I know that they must have so many other thoughts and emotions swirling around in their heads. I hope that last night's frog finding adventure helped give them positive memories to hold on to amidst what must be a difficult time.
I didn't want to interrupt the fun to ask for photo permission forms so these photos don't show the smiles on faces of the five kids and two parents that we got to hang out with last night. But I bet you can imagine some flashlight-lit sparkles in their eyes (and mine, too!).
We definitely could use your help getting the word out about our work in general and about our transition. If you have suggestions or connections to help us share this news within the community, please let us know.
